At ALI’S, our commitment to ethical fashion begins with the artisans who bring our pieces to life. Every fabric, every weave, and every stitch tells a story—one of heritage, skill, and craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations. Yet today, these traditions are at risk of disappearing.

Current Reality
In Tunisia, more than 70% of Melia artisans have closed their workshops, with no one left to carry on their craft. The few who remain struggle to make a living, as demand for their work has declined in a world driven by fast fashion and mass production. This loss is more than just economic, it is the erosion of a cultural legacy, of techniques that have been perfected over centuries, of the very soul of handcrafted textiles.

Our Commitment
We believe that these artisans and their incredible skills deserve recognition, respect, and real opportunities. That’s why we are committed to:
✔ Fair Wages & Ethical Working Conditions – Ensuring that artisans are compensated fairly, so they can continue their craft with dignity and stability.
✔ Reviving Traditional Techniques – Working with weavers, tailors, and embroiderers to preserve and modernize their skills in ways that make them more relevant and desirable today.
✔ Creating Global Demand – By sharing their work with the world, we aim to bring back appreciation for these time-honored crafts and open new markets for artisans.

Why This Matters
Artisans are the heart and soul of ALI’S. Without them, these rich traditions could fade away entirely. By working directly with them, we are not just creating fashion—we are ensuring that the skills, stories, and artistry behind every piece continue to thrive for generations to come.
Looking Forward
We envision a future where indigenous weaving is not only preserved but celebrated, where artisans can pass down their knowledge with pride, and where handcrafted textiles are cherished rather than forgotten.
Through ALI’S, we are dedicated to expanding artisan collaborations, investing in training, and ensuring that ethical craftsmanship remains at the core of everything we do.
With every ALI’S piece, you are not just wearing a garment; you are supporting a craft, honoring a legacy, and helping to keep an art form alive.
